CoreSpeed uses backups as one part of a broader recovery strategy.
A full backup can restore an entire website, but it may also reverse unrelated content, form submissions, orders, or other activity created after the backup.
Because CoreSpeed also uses version-controlled code, managed database work, standardized server configuration, and Cloudflare routing, our team has more precise recovery options.
Depending on the issue, we may be able to:
- Revert a code deployment
- Restore a specific file
- Reverse a targeted database change
- Refresh or bypass a caching layer
- Adjust traffic routing
- Restore the complete website
The goal is not only to have backups. It is to understand what changed and select the safest, fastest recovery method.
That is another reason production changes are managed through SiteCare rather than made directly on the server.
